There are two free ePro webinars offered one June 23 from 1-2:30 pm and another one on July 14th from 1-2:30 pm. Sign up on line and the class is free and you may take it from home or office on your computer.

Second Annual Business Fair

Time: 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

It is free to the public and the vendors can share all of their products and services. Last year it was a huge success.

Donations to Habitat would be welcomed.

March is the month with 3 events that you will not want to miss. Bring your friends from other Associations, Customer, Clients, spouses.

The "1031 Exchange Program" offered on March 18th at Mayfield Township Hall, 1900 North Saginaw, Lapeer 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Mike Alberty, J.D. will share his expertise on how to Exchange Property legally.

The Social Evening March 24th-4:00 p.m. until ? This is called Business to Business, People to People. It will be held at the Brick House, 875 South State Street, Caro. Everyone is welcome. Cash bar and the restaurant is available if you wish to stay for dinner.

Continuing Education is offered on March 25th for anyone that holds a real estate license. check out the front page of the web site for details.

Come join the Lapeer and Upper Thumb Association of REALTORS at the Thomas Edison Inn, 500 Thomas Edison Parkway, Port Huron, MI starting at 4:00 p.m.

This is a monthly social event held in different locations each month, where the REALTORS get together and share ideas, stories, and just have a great time.

There will be a cash bar and of course if you would like to stay, the Thomas Edison Inn has a great restaurant.

Bring your friends, spouses, other REALTORS from other locations.

The LUTAR Board of Directors, Grievance and Professional Standards Committee are required to attend. However any member of LUTAR may attend. Sometimes this is an eye opener to REALTORS when they are doing something against the Code of Ethic and didn't even know it.

What is happening at LUTAR?

Today, Sharon Buckner, AE, and Angie Ridley, 3 Year Director starting in January will be attending the Economic Club Luncheon, representing LUTAR. The speaker will be Lt. Governor John Cherry. Also Vic Carpenter, Kim Mathis and Jefferson Williams is attending the Realcomp MLS users Committee.

Wednesday, November 11th, LUTAR will be holding a meeting at Northern Star Realty in Caseville. The speakers will be Jefferson Williams, Appraiser and Micharl R. Alberty, J.D., Certified Exchange Specialist.

On Thursday there is a new Member Orientation scheduled and remember if you are a seasoned agent and would like to attend, just let LUTAR know you will be attending.

The NAR Convention starts on Friday in San Diego, California.

Don't forget to bring your non perishable food items to the LUTAR Office by November 20th.

Food Drive

Let's help feed the less fortunate people during this holiday season. Bring your non perishable items to LUTAR by November 20th at 4:30 p.m. Look in your kitchen cupboards and if there is something you do not use any longer drop it off at LUTAR.

All proceeds will go to HDC and they will be distributed in Lapeer and Tuscola County.

Last year the cupboards were empty at the HDC when the REALTORS donated the food
they had collected. Every little bit counts.

Realcomp MLS, questions, and concerns

The LUTAR Board of Directors met today 9/1/09 and at their meeting they asked me to send out a message to all of you that use Realcomp as your MLS.

If you are having difficulty with Realcomp, after you have called their support, and would like
to have the concern address at the MLS Users Committee, please let me (Sharon Buckner) know at LUTAR. That way a list will be made and sent with the LUTAR MLS User Committee members to their next meeting.

This will help the Board of Directors keep track of what is going on.

Continuing Education Classes

All real estate agents must renew their license by October 31st this year.
Please check and make sure you have completed the 18 hours of Con Ed with in the
last 3 years.

LUTAR has 2 more classes scheduled before the deadline; one on September 17th, Mayfield Township Hall, 8:00 a.m. and the other on October 22nd, Mayfield Township Hall, 8:00 a.m.

Both classes will give you credit for 6 hours and do include 2 hours of the required law.

State Representative visits LUTAR

Today State Representative Kevin Daley was in the LUTAR office at 8:00 a.m. to meeting with the REALTORS and public. Vic Carpenter, Team One Town & Country Real Estate, Amy Daunt from MAR and Ray Megie, Realty Executives attended. Representative Daley was in the LUTAR Office until 10:00 a.m. He answered questions and gave updates on many topics.
